Behaviour & Anti-Bullying Policy
Up Side Down Dance Academy (USDD Academy) · operated by USDD Networks · info@usddnetworks.co.uk
Purpose
To foster a respectful, inclusive culture across all USDD spaces and to set out how bullying behaviour is prevented and responded to.
What is Bullying?
We define bullying as repeated behaviour, whether physical, verbal, psychological or online, that intentionally hurts another individual or group. This includes discriminatory behaviour based on race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, body, accent or background.
Prevention
- Codes of Conduct are introduced at induction.
- Teachers model respectful behaviour and reinforce ground rules each session.
- We celebrate diversity in our music, choreography and storytelling.
Responding to Reports
All reports are taken seriously. The lead teacher / DSL will:
- Listen to the person reporting.
- Investigate proportionately and confidentially.
- Take appropriate action — restorative conversation, written behaviour plan, parental involvement, suspension or exclusion as required.
- Follow up to ensure behaviour has stopped.
Online Bullying
Online bullying via class chats or social media is treated with the same seriousness as in-person incidents.
