Emergency Procedure Policy

Purpose
To set out the actions to be taken by USDD staff in the event of fire, evacuation, lockdown, medical emergency or missing person.
Fire / Evacuation
- On hearing the alarm or instruction, evacuate calmly via the nearest safe exit.
- Lead students to the venue's designated assembly point.
- Take the day's register.
- Do not return to the building until the venue lead confirms it is safe.
Medical Emergency
Follow the First Aid & Accident Reporting procedure. Call 999 promptly for any suspected serious injury or illness.
Lockdown
In the event of an external threat, follow the venue's lockdown procedure: secure doors, move away from windows, keep students calm, await all-clear from emergency services.
Missing Person
Immediately notify the venue lead. Search the immediate area while one designated staff member remains with the rest of the group. If not located within 10 minutes, contact parents/guardians and the police.
Review & Contact
This policy is owned by USDD Networks (the legal entity operating Up Side Down Dance Academy (USDD Academy)) and reviewed at least annually, or sooner if legislation, statutory guidance or organisational structure changes. Reviewed annually · Last review: May 2026.
