Purpose
Up Side Down Dance Academy (USDD Academy) is committed to a culture where every dancer, family and staff member is treated fairly, respected and valued regardless of any protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010.
Commitments
- Programming, marketing and choreography reflect a diverse range of cultures, body types and stories.
- Recruitment is conducted on merit and free from discrimination.
- Reasonable adjustments are made for disability and accessibility (see SEND / Accessibility policy).
- All staff complete EDI awareness training as part of induction.
- We listen — student, parent and staff voice is actively gathered to identify and remove barriers to participation.
Reporting Discrimination
Any student, parent or staff member who experiences or witnesses discrimination is encouraged to raise it directly with the DSL or via the Complaints Policy. All reports are investigated promptly.
Review & Contact
This policy is owned by USDD Networks (the legal entity operating Up Side Down Dance Academy (USDD Academy)) and reviewed at least annually, or sooner if legislation, statutory guidance or organisational structure changes. Reviewed annually · Last review: May 2026.
