First Aid & Accident Reporting Policy

Applicability:This policy applies to activities delivered by Up Side Down Dance Academy (USDD Academy), operated by USDD Networks.
Purpose
To ensure prompt, appropriate first-aid response and accurate recording of accidents, incidents and near-misses across all USDD activities.
First Aid Provision
- A nominated first-aider is present at every regular class, performance, battle and outdoor session.
- First aid kits are checked monthly and after each use; expired items are replaced immediately.
- For larger events, qualified first-aid medics or partners (e.g. St John Ambulance) are engaged.
In the Event of an Accident
- Make the area safe.
- Administer appropriate first aid within the trained scope of the responder.
- Call 999 if injury is serious.
- Contact parent/guardian for under-18s as soon as possible.
- Complete an accident report record within 24 hours.
- Report under RIDDOR where applicable.
Records
Accident records include who, where, when, what happened, action taken and follow-up. Records are retained securely and reviewed quarterly to identify patterns.
Review & Contact
This policy is owned by USDD Networks (the legal entity operating Up Side Down Dance Academy (USDD Academy)) and reviewed at least annually, or sooner if legislation, statutory guidance or organisational structure changes. Reviewed annually · Last review: May 2026.
