Photography, Video & Social Media Consent Policy

Purpose
To set out how Up Side Down Dance Academy (USDD Academy) captures, stores and uses photography and video of students, with particular regard to the consent of under-18s.
Consent
Consent is recorded at registration for the following categories and can be updated at any time:
- Internal use (lesson review, parent showcase reels) — opt-in.
- Marketing & website (USDD social channels, website, brochures) — opt-in.
- Press & third-party (festival, school, council marketing) — opt-in, with named context.
Capture
- Only USDD-authorised cameras / phones are used by staff. Personal accounts are not used to capture children.
- Children whose parents/guardians have not consented are not photographed; we are vigilant during group shots.
- For battles, performances and public events, signage at entry alerts attendees that filming may take place.
Storage & Removal
Images are stored securely and reviewed for retention annually. Parents/guardians can request removal of any specific image of their child at any time by emailing info@usddnetworks.co.uk.
Review & Contact
This policy is owned by USDD Networks (the legal entity operating Up Side Down Dance Academy (USDD Academy)) and reviewed at least annually, or sooner if legislation, statutory guidance or organisational structure changes. Reviewed annually · Last review: May 2026.
