Code of Conduct for Staff, Teachers & Volunteers

Purpose
To set clear professional standards for all USDD staff, teachers, freelancers and volunteers, protecting both children and adults.
Expectations
- Treat all students, parents and colleagues with respect and dignity at all times.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries — no 1:1 contact in unobserved settings; no personal social-media contact with under-18s.
- Use age-appropriate, inclusive language. No discriminatory, sexualised or aggressive language.
- Do not consume alcohol or be under the influence of any substance while working.
- Dress appropriately for the activity and audience.
- Do not photograph or video children without explicit parental consent (see Photography & Media Consent policy).
- Promptly report any concerns about a child, colleague or environment to the DSL.
Digital Conduct
Use only USDD official channels for student communication. Do not initiate or accept friend/follow requests from under-18s on personal accounts.
Breach
Breaches will be investigated and may result in suspension, termination of engagement and/or referral to the LADO and relevant authorities.
Review & Contact
This policy is owned by USDD Networks (the legal entity operating Up Side Down Dance Academy (USDD Academy)) and reviewed at least annually, or sooner if legislation, statutory guidance or organisational structure changes. Reviewed annually · Last review: May 2026.
